Participant Dog Requirements for Spring 2025 Dog Walk Fundraiser
1. Vaccination Records
- Proof of the following vaccinations:
- Rabies (mandatory by law).
- Distemper/Parvo (DHPP).
- Bordetella (kennel cough, recommended but optional for less exposure risk).
- Participants must upload a scanned copy or photo of their dog’s vaccination records during online registration==providing physical copies at the event check-in is prohibited.
2. Temperament Assessment
- Disclaimer in the registration form:
- Owners must certify that their dogs are friendly and non-aggressive toward people and other animals.
- Aggressive dogs or those exhibiting signs of distress will be asked to leave for safety reasons.
3. Licensing
- Participants must ensure their dogs are licensed according to Virginia regulations, or those of the dog’s home address municipality.
4. Physical Fitness
- Dogs participating in the walk must be in good physical health and capable of walking 1/2 mile.
