Our Mission at Canine Concierge

At Canine Concierge, we’re dedicated to enhancing the well-being of our community through the life-changing power of animal-assisted therapy (AAT). Our mission is clear: to provide certified, highly-trained therapy dogs to those who need them most. By working with local hospitals, long-term care facilities, senior centers, and police departments, we bring comfort, companionship, and emotional support to individuals who are navigating challenging times.

We focus on creating a safe, nurturing environment for our therapy dogs, ensuring they undergo rigorous training. Each dog completes a two-month obedience and housebreaking course followed by six months of intensive AAT training and certification. This process ensures our dogs are well-prepared to offer the highest quality of care and companionship, making each session impactful for recipients. Our dogs and handlers are committed to providing “on-demand smile delivery”—moments of joy, calm, and connection for those facing health, emotional, or social challenges.

Our mission extends beyond simple interactions; we believe animal-assisted therapy can be an essential part of recovery and mental wellness. By connecting with compassionate, well-trained therapy dogs, individuals experience reduced stress, comfort during periods of isolation, and support in the healing process. Our commitment is to bring this powerful, proven therapy to as many people as possible in Fairfax, VA, and beyond.

Through the generous support of donors, partners, and the dedication of our team, we are proud to make a positive difference. Join us as we continue to expand our reach, spreading hope and healing one visit at a time.
